A LIVING, TIMELESS MATERIAL
Inspired by the ancient Japanese technique Shou Sugi Ban, burnt wood is a noble and vibrant material, transformed by fire. This process deepens its visual texture and enhances its resilience, making it a material of exceptional character.
Integrated into our creations, burnt wood interacts with alabaster and rock crystal, creating a play of contrasts between light and darkness, softness and intensity. It adds an organic and authentic dimension to our works, reinforcing our commitment to natural and sustainable materials.

At Alain Ellouz Paris, every material is a source of inspiration, experimentation, and innovation. Alabaster, rock crystal, and burnt wood form the foundation of our craftsmanship, shaped with exceptional mastery to reveal their full richness and singularity.

The Workshop
Located near Versailles, the Alain Ellouz Paris Workshop is far more than a mere creative space—it is a laboratory of innovation and excellence, dedicated to working with alabaster and rock crystal. This unique place unites our alabaster artisans, designers, and engineers, all driven by a shared ambition: to push the boundaries of the material, elevate light, and deliver unparalleled excellence to our clients.
Sculpted by flame, burnt wood combines power and refinement. Its deep black, highlighted with brown and silvery reflections, enhances the most prestigious spaces. Balancing deep textures with natural resilience, it becomes a unique architectural signature—fusing tradition and modernity with timeless elegance.
