A FRESH BACKDROP FOR ATELIER ALAIN ELLOUZ’ PARIS SHOWROOM
A backdrop on a par with the workshop’s iconic creations
Atelier Alain Ellouz’ exceptional design amplifies the natural beauty of two stones: alabaster and rock crystal. That’s why the workshop needed just the right space to showcase their work, one with generous volumes and architectural style to highlight the beauty of their pieces.
Situated between Paris and Versailles, the Bièvres valley is the new headquarters for the Atelier Alain Ellouz showroom and its sales team. There, you’ll find an enormous, fully-renovated building nestled in the surrounding greenery. It is now home to the workshop’s lighting collections and architectural pieces.
Easily accessible by car or RER, this calming and convivial site is set up to accommodate the workshop’s customers from France and abroad.
An inspiring space for the designers
The showroom provides a didactic experience, immersing visitors in a variety of environments.
As you enter the building, a magnificent composition of Soho pendant lights unfurls over three floors at the center of an Art Deco-inspired stairwell. It’s a fabulous lead-in to the showroom and the perfect way to appreciate this majestic chandelier. The composition’s luminescent alabaster medallions are encircled with an inlaid gilt buckle and hang weightlessly from vertical rods equally as golden.
Like guardians of a temple, the Sumatra wall lights designate the showroom entrance. Just after, you’ll find a composition of Manhattan pendant lights, solar discs calling the visitor to continue their explorations. Elegant and sober, this visual concert is orchestrated with an original model and invites the beholder to contemplate.
These first exhibits are a taste of what’s in store, where you capture the intensity of alabaster, a noble and mysterious stone whose secrets can only be revealed by light.
Next, you move into a contemporary space where an Oslo pendant light composition floats above. The doors are superbly clad with engraved, alabaster panels, which is one of the workshop’s many talents. The doors open up to a realm of Sumatras, one of the iconic designs in the Atelier Alain Ellouz collections. As a wall light, pendant light, or in various compositions, dimensions and types of alabaster, Sumatra expresses all the vibrant richness of the stone. Just a few meters down, the Luna composition offers the same sensation.
Our Blinds are adjustable, luminous alabaster partitions that contrast light and shadow. In this space, we’ve paired them with our Galet and Bonnie & Clyde table lamps. Above the dining room table, Camille, Céline and Colette offer soft, intimate light. Next to them, the small Edition pendant lights Yum, Yoko, Prague and Oki engage in a fluid, aerial dance.
We then step into the workshop’s sculptural universe dedicated to the Infinity collection where Liberty and Infinity 8 echo each other. And finally, we discover the splendor of rock crystal with the brightly glimmering Versailles and Concord chandeliers.
