Maison Villeroy: exceptional lighting design at Paris’ latest address for an intimate experience
Maison Villeroy establishes a new standard of luxury by creating unique accommodations in the style of a Parisian private mansion. As the first hotel from the luxury service operator The Collection, Maison Villeroy provides new, intimate accommodations in the heart of Paris’ Golden Triangle. It offers guests an unparalleled experience and service.
The Wainbridge Estate investment group orchestrated the detailed restoration of this mansion originally built in 1908 and listed today as an historical monument. With the idea in mind to create a ‘private mansion’ experience, the Wainbridge Estate called on Atelier Alain Ellouz to bring a unique, contemporary design to this early 20th century architecture. The teams worked closely to produce bespoke lighting compositions that further refine the characteristic Parisian splendor and elegance in this historical building.
THE LOBBY, WHERE THE GOLDEN AGE MEETS AVANT-GARDE STYLE
The superb cut stone facade, designed in a neoclassical style, contrasts with stately interior amenities. The grand atrium features a contemporary work of art which includes 35 sculpted alabaster globes suspended by rods over three floor levels. The composition evokes a rebellious weightlessness and invites hypnotic contemplation. As authentic finestone goldsmiths, Atelier Alain Ellouz craftsmen sculpted the stones and embellished them with gold, like fine gems.
Striking cast iron gilt railings edge the main staircase where a majestic chandelier inspired by Atelier Alain Ellouz’ BOTERO reaches 55 feet in height. Poetic and elegant, this composition, which consists of 40 alabaster globes attached to a pole, is as bold as it is unique. This bespoke design illustrates the workshop’s ability to reinvent its iconic pieces and satisfy the highest standards of its clients.
These contemporary masterpieces add to the classical beauty of the lobby and make you feel like you’re entering a sumptuous private residence rather than a hotel.
PRIVATE APARTMENTS TO RECEIVE GUESTS AS YOU WOULD AT HOME
Comprised of just eleven apartments, suites and rooms, the accommodations offer the comfort and charm of a Parisian home-away-from-home. With thoughtful floor layouts to preserve the intimacy of its guests, the two private apartments feature a dining room, living area and show kitchen to evoke the privacy of home.
The Villeroy apartment features elegant décor and materials of the highest quality. The magnificent bespoke LUNA chandelier by Atelier Alain Ellouz is suspended above the private dining room table. The evanescent light diffused from each alabaster globe adds to the intimate and cozy ambiance. The subtle swirls in the alabaster stone harmonize perfectly with the sophisticated beige and gray tones used in the decor.
The Empyrée apartment (meaning the highest point of heaven) is Maison Villeroy’s penthouse. It offers the comfort of a private residence for an unforgettable experience. Every accommodation is designed around a sophisticated palette of natural tones, materials of the highest quality and upscale furnishings. As the central element in these sumptuous amenities, the CONCORDE chandelier is crafted with 35 precious rock crystals encircled with metallic contours. Reminiscent of a massive jewel, the CONCORDE rock crystal lighting element is assembled by hand. Atelier Alain Ellouz reveals rock crystal’s natural translucent qualities and its delicate character. Thanks to a system of invisible lighting in the stone, we are able to capture the subtle patterns in this elegant material.
AN INTIMATE DINING EXPERIENCE WITH THE FINEST FARE
Offering a dining experience reserved for guests, the Trente-Trois restaurant is led by a Michelin-starred Chef. In this classical dining room, Wainbridge Estate stayed true to the building’s original décor of wooden paneling and gold leaf molding, restoring it with contemporary elegance. The modern design of the chandelier is the fruit of collaborative efforts with a team of artisan blacksmiths from Atelier d’Oeuvres de Forge. The chandelier offers a subtle radiance and amplifies the beauty of the gilded ceiling thanks to its brass work set with pieces of back-lit alabaster.
A BAR EVOKING A MEMBERS ONLY CLUB
With its crackling fire, mood lighting and plush sofas, the Bar Jean Goujon evokes the swanky seduction of an exclusive members’ club. Bar Jean is a luxurious salon decorated with the building’s original gold leaf molding and precious woodwork.
Its classical décor is embellished by the spectacular ELYSEE rock crystal chandelier from Atelier Alain Ellouz. ELYSEE’s design was inspired by prisms of fine gems and the creative precision and mastery of the light pay tribute to the brilliant purity of rock crystal. Atelier Alain Ellouz employs its know-how to sculpt and reinvent rock crystal for the most remarkable projects.
Through these bespoke lighting designs, the unique, extraordinary character of alabaster and rock crystal are revealed and brought to life by the talented artisans at Atelier Alain Ellouz. The creations are a part of what makes Maison Villeroy a unique establishment that redefines the idea of comfort and charm in the hotel experience.
